Whether you're crafting for yourself or gifting handmade decorations, this guide has everything you need to get started!

Materials You’ll Need

Design Your Artwork in Canva

Start by creating your design in Canva. Choose festive frames in gold, or with snowflakes, and then add your photo's. You can add your own text too.

Personal Tip: If you use my favourite the polaroid frame, then you can add a cute little date and memory in a hand-written font for a personalised touch.

Once your design is ready, export it as a PNG with transparent background and open in Silhouette Studio.

Align Your Design in Silhouette Studio

Open Silhouette Studio and load the free bauble template. This template ensures your design fits perfectly inside the flat bauble.

  1. Import your Canva design.
  2. Adjust its size to match the bauble template.
  3. Ensure the design fits within the cutting boundaries.
  4. If you're making the printable sticker paper baubles, on a new page copy and paste the re-sized designs and print as normal

Print on PaperCutz Printable Acetate

Print your design onto the Paper Cutz printable acetate using an inkjet printer. You must make sure you print on the correct side.

  • Pro Tip: To test which side should be printed on, breathe on the acetate. If it fogs up it is the WRONG side
  • Let the print dry completely before handling.

Cut Your Design with Silhouette Cameo

Place the acetate sheet on your cutting mat and load it into the Silhouette Cameo.

  • Select the appropriate settings for acetate in Silhouette Studio.
  • Send the design to cut and carefully peel off the excess material.
  • You can cut plain blanks if you are making the sticker version

If you're making the sticker sheet version, make sure you trace around your images and cut with the silhouette cameo

Assemble the Ornament

  • If creating the sticker version, apply this to the acetate
  • Roll the acetate design gently into a cylinder and insert it into the flat bauble.
  • Add decorative elements like glitter or faux snow to enhance the floating effect.
  • Adjust the position of the acetate to ensure it’s centered.

Add a Festive Bow

  • Use ribbon to create a festive bow.
  • Attach the bow to the top of the bauble using a hot glue gun or adhesive.
  • Optional: Add additional embellishments like charms or mini bells for extra flair.
